Pigeon Proof Balconies has designed a custom-fit, highly efficient & removable commercial grade pigeon netting system designed for properties with strict no-alteration policies or no-drill policies.  Ours isn't a DIY system of duct tape & velco strips.  This is not a polypropylene moulded plastic netting that you would find at the Dollar store or local hardware store to cover your fruit trees in the garden.  We use galvanized steel supports & fixtures along with weather resistant netting to ensure they can withstand our crazy Ottawa micro climate. Because every balcony is different, we've made our system fully adaptable to each balcony's unique features.  Where brand new hi-rise balconies are generally strong and sturdy with perfectly level floors, walls & ceilings, older buildings may have had their balconies repaired or resurfaced or modified in some way.  This presents more challenges in making the netting stable & secure.   In many instances balony netting may only be required for the open half of the balcony assuming the space under & at both ends of the railing are minimal and too small for a bird to pass.  Our sleek, non-permanent option is perfect for renters who wish to take their protective investment with them when they move. While this system effectively deters nesting pigeons, it is not rated for pet containment or safety. It offers an efficient, mobile way to ensure your balcony remains a clean, bird-free zone.  That being said, our bird netting systems are not meant to hold up curtains, blankets or be used to hang drying clothes.  They are meant purely as a physical barrier to keep pigeons out.  They are not curtain rods and should not be used as such.
